It took a while, but comments are back courtesy of Intense Debate. It looks a bit messy right now, hopefully I'll be able to tidy up the CSS very soon. And if you use RSS, the full story - with images, Youtube videos, whatever - will appear in your reader. You never need to visit the site again! The RSS link is here.

If you spot any bugs or problems, be kind and drop me a line.

"These two droids..."

New Astromech for the collection. The white one is R5-M2 from the Hoth Recon Patrol set and the black one is R3-S6 from the Clone Wars show. Not sure why he's called that, R3 units usually have a clear dome, but whatever. Apparently, he's also known as Goldie and he replaces a missing R2-D2 and turns out to be a spy. I hope that sentence was as exciting to read as it was to type.

GTA IV: The Lost and Damned impressions

At first blush, it's definitely more of the same (which is not a bad thing), but after few hours play I can tell they've made some changes to accommodate the fact that you're almost always on two wheels. No taxis or car service short cuts here, and it definitely makes the game feel different.

Firstly, they've made the bikes handle much more responsively - you can actually get around corners with these rather than the 80ft turning circle Nico had to put up with. They're also tough to fall off of. Before, a brush with a curb would see you catapulted into the air at 90mph into oncoming traffic, now your guy is practically superglued to his seat. At the beginning of the game traffic is also cut down greatly, barely a car on the road, just until you get used to driving. An hour in, and the traffic is back up to normal. All in all, much less frustrating to drive from place to place.

The new guns (automatic pistol, auto shotgun and grenade launcher) are powerful as hell, which is probably due to the increased amount of combat. You really have to mow down a lot of people per fight and there are a ton of gang war gunfights on the map that need clearing. Annoyingly, I dropped the pistol by accident and couldn't find it again - going to have to buy another, but the usual weapon stores don't have the new guns. Some dude in a van has them (I'm assuming, from the intro instructions) but I can't find the bugger. Going to have to FAQ that one.

Anyway, nice enough. Still the same problems and joys as before, seen from a different angle. Oh yeah, and Nico has shown up already. That's the best part so far.
